Stake not returned

A staked bonus that pays the winnings and keeps the stake, so its cash value is less than its face value.

Also written: free bet, bonus stake, profit only

Put ten cedis of your own on a price of three and a winning bet returns thirty. Put a ten cedi free bet on the same price and a winning bet returns twenty, because the stake was never yours and does not come back. The face value and the cash value of the same token differ by the stake every single time it wins.

This is not a trick, it is how almost every free bet in the market is written, and it is stated in the terms. It matters here because it changes how a token should be used: the shorter the price, the larger the share of the return that was the stake, so a free bet spent on a heavy favourite gives most of its value away.

Several offers on this register are paid as tokens of this kind rather than as cash, sometimes released a piece at a time rather than all at once, and sometimes with a minimum price attached. The index files what the terms say and leaves the arithmetic to the reader, because the arithmetic depends on a price nobody can know in advance.
